Yep! I'm going as a character from a cartoon all weekend! At the anime con I usually go to, there's always a ton of Homestucks, some superheroes, people from cartoons like Adventure Time, and definitely from video games. If you're cosplaying from something other than anime, you definitely shouldn't feel left out. I believe there will be a lot of Steven Universe cosplayers this year, as a voice actor from the show will be there.

I'm seriously considering going to the convention this year and it's a little last minute but I want to make sure I will have a place to stay before I finalize plans to go. I will be cosplaying, however only one.

Ill be there on Saturday as Jake English for the meet up. You guys are going to have so much fun if it is your first con. It is so laid back and fun there.

How does anyone feel about hosting a meetup on Sunday at noon? I think a lot of people will probably be heading out of the con later in the day, and wouldn't be able to make the 3:30 time, so just a thought. Any takers?

At ACen there was often a group of artists who'd bring pencils and pens and lots of computer paper and gather around by the elevators to draw, and people could jump in an draw too. Anyone know if anyones planning to do that at Midwest?

Most official meetups meet at the loading docks directly across from the hyatt hotel. Typically if the group wants to have photos taken elsewhere they would then move after meeting up.

I can't speak for the raves, but unless it says 18+ you should be able to attend them. Pretty much any programing that is listed as 18+ you will be unable to attend, but most of these happen in the later hours of the night. But so long as it is not listed as such you can get into panels, vendors hall, game room, main events, and so on. When in doubt check the schedule posted online, or ask a staff member at con (:
