Social Media Policy - For Staff
Primary goals of social media:
- Give people confidence in our events. They are fun, well-planned, and friendly.
- Reach and engage with new potential attendees.
- Distribute information and updates to our fans.
Remember that when engaging in social media for us, there are a number of things to remember that are a little different than your personal accounts.
- Keep all responses polite. Never, ever, ever, respond in a snarky, sarcastic, or mean way. Things are taken differently on the internet.
- Don't discuss or share material that some people may find objectionable. Religion, politics... sports... etc.
- Don't be afraid to ask/email other staff for the right answers to questions.
- Do NOT respond to "hate messages" or messages that are purposefully negative. Leave that for higher ups. Sometimes anonymous people on the internet like to promote an agenda, and we won't help them do that.
Remember that there are humans on the other side, and you want to make them feel welcome at our events! :)
